Kindergarten Open House

We have completed yet another parent milestone- the school open house. Emmitts kindergarten class had their open house last week and the whole family went to check it out. His teacher Ms, Squires had come up with a zoo theme. The kids had TONS of animals that they made hung throughout the room. They had done some take home animal zoologist projects where they took pictures with their animal. It was super cute, I love how creative his teacher is with the class. Emmitt took us around and showed us everything, they have some eggs that their hatching and some silk worms their observing. Kindergartens so much fun, Alaina can't wait to go! While we were there Emmitts bestfriend Nick came at the very same time so I took a moment to snap a picture of the two of them.

Holy smokes I have a 6 yr old! Emmitt turned 6 on March 3rd, he certainly looks like a 6 yr old. I love this boy he is such a good person. We had parent teacher conferences recently and mine and Kurts favorite thing they said was that he is respectful of the other kids and she believes the other kids recognize that because everyone in his kindergarten class just loves him. He is such a great helper too, and absolutely loves going to school. Here are some fun questions I asked him:

For Emmitts birthday we didn't have much in the way of funds so we just let him pick out a gift at the store which was his skateboard. I made him a baseball cake, per his request, red velvet with cream cheese frosting (from scratch- thank you pw).

Kurt was having a little too much fun with the camera while I was making the cake...lol. I didn't know that even half of these pictures were taken or existed until I loaded the camera onto our computer. I was super focused on the cake and getting the color just right. As soon as I downloaded the pictures I was laughing so hard!

I had to teach Zumba up in Frazier that evening but when I came home I met the family at Mountasia since Emmitt requested to go mini golfing. (His favorite thing on his birthday) Happy Birthday Big Man, I love you!
