My Style Monday- Me Time

I missed the my style monday yesterday but I'm going to post it anyway. This weeks monday is about a space to myself. If I had a room in my home that could be mine alone, what would it be, or how would I use that space? I'm not crafty by any means, I used to be...before I had kids, after that my scrapbooking went out the window. I don't sew or do any crafts really so my space would work to my needs. My getaway room would be a salon. #

I love the picture of Audrey Hepburn on the wall in the photo. Oh YES how nice it would be to ave a room all done up as a salon and be able to work from home. That is once I've established a good clientele. I would love to have a big enough space to have all the amenities one might find in an upscale salon. I'd have a styling station, shampoo station, esthetician area, mani/pedi station, and of course we can't forget the tanning area!! #

Oh what a dream that would be!! ^

I LOVE this pink styling chair! Looks pretty dang comfortable.

I really like the white modern furniture in this one too.

This waiting area has a very clean pretty feel.

I like the classiness of the picture to the left.

That's what I would do with a space of my very own, what would you do?^

My Style Monday- Playroom

Back on track with my blogging and it's Monday which means it's time for My Style! This week is about playrooms. We were lacking in a playroom back in Frazier and I really missed it!! They are so convenient, I love being able to send the kids in one particular room to play and make a mess, then I just have that one room to clean...well...theoretically anyway. lol. Now that we've moved we have a loft and we decided it's about time we have a playroom again. So with that I would like to share some inspiration pictures for playrooms that I would definitely love to do. I have always been a big fan of pottery barn style playrooms. The primary colors go perfectly since I have a blend of boys and girls. I love all the fun storage options they have as well. This kids farm table is so cute!

I love this kicthen/supermarket play area.

This activity table and chairs I found at Land of Nod, they have really cute stuff as well. There a branch of Crate and Barrel which is another store I love.

I have a whole Dr. Seuss thing going on, the kids bathroom is decorated in primary colors and dr.seuss towels and wall hangings. I found a sweet large wall decal of the cat in the hat on pottery barn clearance that I am going to get for the playroom.

Pottery barn and Land of Nod are pretty pricey so if I can't find good steals on their clearance section I love using there pictures as inspriation and finding something similar elsewhere. Pottery Barn was the original site that I had found Emmitts boat bed on but they wanted 2,000 for it. I then stumbled upon it at Costco for 900. Ah thank you! ^ It's fun to find inspiration then look for the deals to make it happen.

How would you decorate your playroom?

My Style Monday- Bedroom

Monday Monday...another my style Monday just for you! # This week we're going to look at the bedroom, where all the magic happens..lol! I figured I'll be realistic on this one although I did find this picture and if we were living in a dream world I'd like to say...YES PUHHH-LEAZ!!!

GORGEOUS!!! That'd be like waking up in heaven every morning.^
I also thought this bed was just plain interesting. I've never seen anythng like it. If you have a fairytale type bedroom theme it'd be cute like you're in an enchanted forest or something.

But onto the My Style portion here. So my future plans for my bedroom are a black and white toile theme with a french feel. I dream of going to Europe so I want to incorporate that ^ into my bedroom. Something like this would be very nice!

We have some old hand me down bedroom furniture right now, and a bed frame not a actual bed with headboard footboard. I plan on refinishing the bedroom furniture to save a little money, and it just seems like a fun project. Our dresser pretty much is this exact one but in the old worn out wood finish I would like to make it white just like this one.

I would love to one day have avanity like this one in my bedroom since I am such a huge makeup fan!

These are just some fun decor ideas that would go with my theme.

Of course the bathroom would have to have the same feel, these are so cute!

Canisters for q tips, cotton balls, bath salts, etc.

Love the accent of toile on these towels. I also thought the decorations in this bedroom are really cute too.

That's my bedroom style, what's yours?

My Style Monday- Kitchens

Happy Monday Everyone!! I am so excited about this weeks topic for My Style Monday we are going to be looking at kitchens! YAY! I was having way too much fun daydreaming while choosing my pictures to share with you this week. I LOVE all these kitchen designs and they totally fit what I would love to one day have in my own kitchen.

These first two pictures are my top 2 favorite kitchen layouts that I found.

If you didn't already know I love chandeliers and would love to have them all over my house. Well....mainly in my kitchen/dining area, and my bedroom. Their just so beautiful!

I love this shabby chic island/bar! I would definitely replace those lights above with 2 chandeliers though.

The blue island and blue accents in the top left picture would be replaced with either a pink or sage green. That's the color scheme I love for my kitchen- white, sage green, and pink. I've mentioned before but I have all the kitchen aide pink stuff. And my dish set is pink/sage green. Sadly most of my dishes have been broken over the yrs due to my kids, I plan on replacing them with a set of white shabby chateaux ones from Target (the picture wasn't working for them.) Anyway, I love the pink and white dining area, and the pink and green accessories in the bottom left pic.

I love these chairs, the yellow and pink just looks so happy. The top left kitchen I am loving the layout of too, I like that extra end storage table off of the bar.

Now for the finale pictures of the my style monday- my kitchen would never be complete without these retro fridge and oven. My heart literally stopped while looking at these, and it also stopped at the price! lol. One day though my dream will come true.^

Of course I would choose the PINK one....have we not learned that yet??? ha ha.

This stove is just about the cutest thing I have ever seen!! This one is a used version that's for sale but the new ones you can buy would have the chrome accents rather than this blk stovetop look. For those of you who have the cash flow fo these babies or just like to dream shop I found these little babies here!

What better to go above the retro oven then this retro hood, and yes mine would be in the matching retro pink. *sigh* Oh how I love daydreaming^

My Style Monday- Handmade

This weeks My Style Monday topic is things you've handmade. Well...I am not the craftiest person alive so this was a tough one for me. Ever since I've had kids it seems my projects have fallen by the wayside. I am not a seamstress, I have no clue really how to sew. I would love to and eventually will someday get a machine and teach myself. I LOVE handmade aprons, clothes, blankets, etc. The main things that I myself have handmade before are among the topics of scrapbooking. I used to scrapbook a ton before I had kids, now that I have 3 children though I am WAY behind! I only have a scrapbook for Emmitt and it's only completed in his baby yrs, and even still not fully. Now I use the blog to book idea to scrapbook. I turn my blog every year into a book, which makes for great journaling/scrapbooking for our family & great gifts for the grandparents! So these are a few samples from my old school scrapbook days, and my 2 blog books:

2007 and 2008 blog books

This page is from my highchool scrapbook, I made a senior year time capsule page. I journaled all the popular things at the time I graduated highschool.

This page layout is from Kurt and my engagement photo shoot my Mom did for us up in the mountains after it snowed.

This is my cheer layout from highschool

A layout from Emmitts book.

As you can see these handmade things are pretty old, makes me realize I should start being a bit more crafty. Now a days I utilize my craftiness in the kitchen, I LOVE to cook and bake! Someday I would love to learn some mad cake skills I love looking at creative wedding cakes. So handmade may not be in my vocab for now but it will eventually get there again someday.
What do you homemake?

My Style Monday- Birthday Parties

Another My Style Monday is upon us and this week we are invited to show some creative/fun birthday party themes and ideas. Short Southern Mommas daughter is turning ten soon and she's trying to find some fun ideas. Although we can show whatever we like I wanted to direct my post just for her and her daughters bday. I absolutely LOVE the disney family site for kids bday ideas! They always have fun themes and awesome cake designs to do from home. Best thing is that most of the ideas won't cost a fortune and they have tons of interesting games and activities.

For her daughters age group my fave was the Spa Birthday Party idea, complete with facials, mani/pedis, hairstyling, and makeup sessions. You can have each guest bring a robe and slippers. Drape some white sheets around the room and chairs, dim the lights and have plenty of candles to make it feel like a spa. Don't forget some aromatherapy scented ones too! You can set a table with makeup, buy some cheap brands like bonne bell, and j.a.n.e from walmart.

For treats, I thought making some "mock sushi" was such a cute idea and fun!

Here's the link to the treat sushi.

You can even make your own stylin sleep masks like these! And for cake ideas these designs fit the theme and their WAY unique!

That's all for My Style Monday! Now I want to know what are your cool birthday party ideas?
