Dear P90X Block 2,
As a die hard workout fan, I would like to be the first to congratulate you on officially kicking my trash! Yes, I said kick my trash. :) This block is definitely more extreme than the first. If you could please take the chest, shoulders, triceps video and remove it from the block I would be perfectly OK with that.
Signed, The girl with the shaking arms
Ya like that letter? I think it suits the way I'm feeling right about now. The chest, shoulder, triceps video is definitely the MOST difficult for me. My arms are shaking right now from getting my butt kicked! I think I've entered the realm of the more sadistic type workout personality: I tend to enjoy being incredibly sore. LOL! It shows me that I'm not at a plateau (which is what I tend to struggle with) and that I am by no means taking it easy. P90X is so fun, and is constantly changing it up and confusing the body. Let me just give you a little insight into the dvd I did today. (chest, shoulders, triceps) If you don't like push ups then you WON'T like this video...lol. I just so happen to struggle with push ups,(I'm pretty sure most women do, unless your Gwen Stefani or PINK) and there are plenty of push ups to go around in this video. It's pretty much push ups, shoulders, triceps- repeated over and over again. By the end you might just fall flat on your face while trying to slowly descend your body down into the push up while your arms are screaming NO MORE PLEASE!! (or at least that's what happened to me.)
Food for thought P90X creators: WHY do you save the one arm and clap push ups to the end of the video??!! COME ON!
Anyway today was CRAZY. Also one more thought before I close out this post regarding Pink, I have to share this because I thought this was AWESOME and another reason why I wanted this P90X program. My fave magazine is Womens Health and in that mag last month there was a interview with Pink, they were asking her the regular stuff they ask what do you eat, whats your workout routine, about her tour, etc. She was telling them she does NOT work with a trainer contrary to popular belief, she does her workouts on her own. She also said that she was visiting her brother ans sis in law and that her sis in law was doing a workout that Pink could NOT keep up with, it made her angry that she couldn't do it so she decided she'd get it and master it. Ya want to guess what workout it was?? Oh yes it was P90X!! Now keep in mind she is not being paid to say what she said, she's not a spokesperson for the company or anything. But she said she takes it on the road with her and she does that and some extra cardio to keep in shape. I'm a believer! :)

I have officially completed Training Block 1 of P90X!! It was tough but well worth the effort. So far P90 has blown me away with how effective it really is, here my baby is just shy of 4 mos old and I am already back to my pre baby weight and in my old jeans! I lost a whopping 25lbs and 4 pant sizes! I really didn't think I'd be back to my pre baby weight anytime soon considering that was my days of working in two different gyms and pretty much all I was doing was exercising. (and taking nasty fat burners, but no fat burners this go round!) Just goes to show you that you can do whatever you set your mind to. P90X really works, you just have to commit 100 percent! I ran out of my bedroom dancing and singing to Kurt while rocking my size 4 jeans- I was so excited to be back in them already. I am evenmore determined to see just what I can accomplish in this next block. 30 days down- 60 to go!^

(still got a bit of "mom hips" and ab work to do)

The X has begun! I am LOVING it, that may be an understatement to how much I enjoy this program. Today I completed Day 5, tomorrow I will complete my last workout of the week before my rest day. Main thing I enjoy about this program is the constant change. Or should I say the muscle confusion? I tend to plateau once I have been doing a certain form of exercise for a while. Like with my turbo kick, and Tae Bo workouts. My body was in need of something new to push harder. I'm not sure I agree with the fact that beginners can do P90x?? I think you definitely need to be used to working out before you jump into this. #
I really love the meal plan that comes with the program. They take the guesswork out of it for you. P90x definitely lives up to everything you've heard. I would totally recommend this program. My husband and I have been doing it together, it's nice to have someone to work out with. And yes, I am sore. # Just to give you an idea this is what my week looks like:
Day 1- Chest & Back, and Ab Ripper
Day 2- Plyometrics aka The Beast (I'm not even joking...it's insane!)
Day 3- Shoulders & Arms, and Ab Ripper
Day 4- Yoga X (I used to think yoga was weak...yaaa not so much anymore)
Day 5- Legs & Back, Ab Ripper
Day 6- Kenpo X (Kickbox type cardio)
Day 7- rest
Pretty crazy but so much fun! For some reason I get a high off of feeling like I'm gonna die during exercise....LOL! Let me give you a sneak at what mealtime is like for me, after calculating my stats I am supposed to have 1,400 calories per day. Now for me that seems like alot, and I have a hard time getting there because I'm just not that hungry. Here's a layout:
Day 1- (Brkfst) Banana Blueberry Protein Shake
(Snack) 1/2 protein bar
(Lunch) Tuna Salad
(Snack) 1/2 protein bar
(Dinner) Lemon Chkn, brwn rice, and salad
*Calorie Count- 1,140*
Day 2- (Brkfst) Protein Shake
(snack) 1/2 protein bar
(lunch) Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chkn Sub from Subway no bread
(snack) 1/2 protein bar
(dinner) 2 chkn soft tacos from Taco Bell
* calorie count-1,100*
Day 2 is an example of a day where your out and about running errands. They actually have a fast food recommended list in case you aren't at home and didn't bring your meal. The list goes on pretty much like the above. There are variations of what you can/can't eat, I prefer pretty easy things and I don't mind protein bars in the least so I eat those for my snack. I won't be doing any stats or photo till after I complete this first training block so another 3 wks till I'll post those.
So far today I have had:
(Brkfst) Banana Blueberry protein shake and 1/2 red grapefruit
(Snack) 1/2 protein bar
(lunch) Egg white only mushrm omelet
I plan on having the other half of my bar for my next snack. Salmon with Lemon Dill sauce, brwn rice, and veggie soup for dinner! So bottom line: Is P90X worth the money? Definitely.
