Words to Live by

"NEVER become the kind of wife who says: I don't care how I look. I'm married."

I stole this thought from my girlfriend Amanda. She posted this thought on her blog that she came across in a Good Housekeeping magazine. I loved her post on these words so much, I decided to share it with all of you! These are truly words to live by and never ever forget. To read her post and expanded thoughts on this quote go here.
Trust me, it's worth the read! Thanks Amanda!^

Night Before Christmas

(this is my version of the night before christmas, I sent it out with our christmas cards this year.)

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
our children were running and screaming, "That's MY dollhouse!"
Their toys and clothes strewn all over their room with flair
I, in hopes that a maid would appear

Dreaming of children nestled quiet in their beds
while mischievous missions of little ones banged on my head
Maddox in his swing, taking a nap
How to settle these kids? Maybe they could take a lap

When suddenly there arose such a clatter,
whatever happened to the pitter patter?
Up on the shelves and down with a crash
just like The Incredibles, "Mommy, I'm Dash!"

The man of the house already to mow,
to save us from the jungle grass growing below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but my two oldest children swinging from the tree with no fear.

With a three yr old princess so lively and quick,
and my four yr old son battling with a couple massive sticks
More rapid than eagles, or horses they came
and whistled and sang all the reindeer names

Now Dasher, Now Dancer
Now Prancer and Vixen
On Comet, On Cupid
On Donner, and Blitzen
to the top of the porch,
to the end of the hall,
They sang away, sang away, sang them all.

All dirty and stingy from playing outside
when they met with a bath and their clothes with Tide
Up to their bedroom they flew,
all tucked in, teddy bear too

And then in a twinkling I heard not a sound,
I shut the door slowly, and leapt with a bound
As I drew in my head and let out a sigh
down the hall came Kurt, my one and only guy

He was dressed in his work clothes, and looking real lean,
his shirt all covered with metal, from installing screens
A nice big hug, and massage on my back,
Then off to the kitchen to fix him a snack

Maddox now awake, and ready to eat,
greeted by his smile and his tiny happy feet
A sweet little coo, and grasp of his hand,
reminds me why I chose this, "Mom Land."

There sometimes is chaos and lots of clatter,
but in the end that really doesn't matter.
Having a family is what I love most,
God gave me 3 beautiful reasons to boast.

So as you're sitting round the Christmas tree this year,
Looking around at all those you hold dear
Count your blessings, and be sure to say
how grateful you are, and you'll realize things aren't so gray.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
