Busy Little Bees

Busy Busy Busy! That's how life has been around here. Kurts business has been picking up thanks to the heat. And I have been busy with the new job, and prep for it. I taught my first class last Tuesday! It was sooo much fun, a little nerve wracking but all together fun. I taught boxing. When I put the mic on I suddenly felt sick to my stomach...lol. It went great though better than I expected really. :) This week has been rough for me. Just feeling lonely and knowing that the summer will only get worse for Kurts schedule. Plus on top of all the other things that seem to be bugging, I lost my wedding band. :( I left it on my sink to wash my face and put my moisturizer on and it's gone now. I have searched the house all over and still cannot find it, we've even checked our drains. It makes me sad to have lost it, a new one just isn't the same. I just pray it will turn up.
The kids just continue to grow like weeds. Alaina looks more like a young lady now than a baby. Makes me sad a little. Her hair is now offcially long enough to put into a little ponytail. I did it the other day for church and she just looked so cute! She is quite the spunky little girl. She jabbers and tries to repeat everything that you say, and she can be pretty fiesty. Kurt & I were thinking we should put her into this beginners gymnastics class called tumble tots, because she is not afraid of anything! She is a Shillig girl to the core...lol! She just climbs on everything and is flipping herself around all the time.
Emmitt is becoming such a handsome young man. People are always amazed he's only 3 cause he's so big and talkative. He loves to help! Lark came out here recently to help out with the kids while I did a workshop and he was all about His grandma. It was very cute! He wanted to help grandma with everything, and go wherever she went. He LOVES having family around! We had a scary thing happen with Emmitt the other day in the garage. We were outside playing and Emmitt tried to climb up on Kurts dirtbike like he usually does. This time it was on a different stand and it fell over on top of him! I nearly had a heartattack! I was the only one home so I just lifted the bike up off of him and he climbed out then some construction workers across the street ran over to help me lift the bike on top of the stand again. Luckily he walked away with only a couple cuts on his belly from the peg. Our neighbor firefighter guys came over to check him out afterward. Talk about scary though! Emmitt was more terrified than anything. :( So that's the update on our little family, hope everyone is doing well!

Got the Job!

Yesss! I had my interview w/ LA Fitness yesterday and it went great. The coordinator teaches a Latin Impact class so I attended that and then afterward she interviewed me. I had to show her a basic warm up in my style and some cardio moves real quick. Then we went and talked about my schedule and things, and she told me she'd love to hire me. It was awesome and I am very excited to start work soon. I'll be starting out subing for a while to get me familiar. I have a workshop that she wants me to attend Saturday for boxing and kickboxing to learn the "LA fitness way" of doing things. It's been hectic trying to pull all my paperwork together though. Luckily I have some firefighter neighbors who know a guy that does cpr and I don't have to pay a huge chunk of money for it. It's nice to have some hook ups! LOL! Anyway I'll keep you all updated on the job happenings!

Tagged

So my girl Amanda tagged me to complete this game, so here goes:

To complete this tag you must:

1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages)

2. Turn to page 123. Find the 5th sentence

4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog5. Tag 5 people

Nearest Book is Fitness Theory and Practice sorry it's nothing more exciting. All the good books are upstairs in my nightstand since I tend to read before I go to bed. The 5th sentence reads: "Every negative lifestyle choice we make has the potential to rob us of precious quality and quantity of life." Hey that's actually a really true and awesome statement!

Ok I tag Caroline, Ash, Larkie, Mandi, & Christine! Go Girls!

TKB- Turbo Kickboxing

WOW....WOW....WOW! Yeah I think that might describe it. lol! Yesterday was my turbo kick certification in Palm Springs. It went from 8-6 and it was definitely crazy! I thought it would be like my original certfication was, with a million people and mainly review for the day then physical stuff, I was wrong. There were 11 of us there, plus the instructor. I would subtract 3 hrs for breaks and sit down review. So we were on our feet kickboxing and learning the physical routine for 7 hrs! NUTS! It was so fun though! This style of kickboxing is designed to make the class feel like a party. It's very high energy and fun. They have up to date dance type music and they throw in some hip hop type moves every once in a while. It was intense and definitely my style class. The instructor was really fun and had us laughing the whole time. Our practical consisted of her making sure our form and technique was correct for each kick and punch. Then doing the "round" full out and checking our energy and our own personal style. Then we did a written exam with questions about the turbo kick company and class format, etc.

Turbo Kick pre designs all their classes. They call them rounds and to teach them you get a dvd of pre designed choreography, a cd of the music for that round, and choreography notes. With each class you can change up the choreography that you don't like or you can blend rounds, but you have to use turbo kick music in order to call your class turbo kick and you have to use the main format of their choreography. It's so fun and upbeat. I definitely felt like I was getting my butt kicked but the music pumped me up and it changes up alot since it's an anaerobic format so you keep moving and having fun! In each round there are 11 sections, by the 3rd your like I'm done, no more please! LOL! It was a crazy day and I am definitely going to look into teaching turbo kick soon!

Interview!

YESSSSS!!! Finally I have an interview w/ LA Fitness set for Wednesday! I am super excited and can't wait to teach. The lady sounded really nice and she teaches a Latin Impact class, so I'll attend her class and interview after! I have to come ready with some small routines for hip hop and boxing! Let's get this started...

A Mothers Joy

Haircut for Emmitt

So I decided Emmitts hair was getting way to long and thick. And since it's only getting warmer we shuld do a summer cut. We got his haircut this morning at Fantastic Sams and they did a great job! Emmitt absolutely loves getting his haircut! He is so serious when they do it and very quiet. He's always been so good about haircuts ever since his first one even!

What a Blog Slacker!

I was informed that my blog needs attention, so I decided I should do a much needed update! Well more like forced then decided....LOL! Ok ok ma here's the update.

Kurt- Is keeping busy with work. It's slowly starting to pick up, which is much needed. He's feeling the stress of operating a business on his own, and stress of the slow season. So if you could all pray for him that'd be great. I feel awful because there's not much I can do to relieve the man stress issues. He has been riding alot with the neighborhood! When we first moved in here there was only him and another guy that had dirtbikes. Well dirtbike fever has spread and now the four other young families on our block have them! LOL!!

Amy (me)- As for me I have been busy trying to get my fitness stuff in order. I have yet to find a reasonable cpr class so we'll see about that. Also I am doing a turbo kick certification on Saturday (4/12). I just found out about it today and jumped on it cause it's cheaper than normal, and that's definitely something I am interested in. Another all day course in Palm Springs so wish me luck with that! Hopefully my legs don't give out...LOL! I've been painting up Alaina's room getting it ready for her big girl stuff. It's been fun to exercise my interior decorating needs! Other than that just keeping busy with the kids and the events of young family life. Oh and I've also started a Fit and Fun Mommies group at church! I'll have a bunch of Moms who are interested come here once a week (to start) for exercise classes.

Emmitt- He just registered for preschool!! YAY! We found an affordable school directed by a woman at church from her home. We went in this morning to register and they ran through a mock day to get an idea of how everything works. He loved it! And he's very eager to start. He also keeps telling his Dad that he's going to get a dirtbike like him, after he learns to ride his bicycle well. It's really cute he so wants to be just like his Daddy.

Alaina- Is growing up so big and I just can't get over it! I really just want her to stay little and never get bigger! She tries to keep up wih Emmitt whatever he does she has to do too. She was all about the preschool, it was hilarious. I think she's more ready than him! LOL. She is saying tons of new things everyday and she loves taking baths. When you tell her she's going to take a bath she'll go over to Kurt and say, "Daddy, Daddy I take a bath." and he says you want to take a bath and she says YAYYY and throws her arms in the air like it's Disneyland or something. It's so funny. Plus man she can hold her own. She's definitely learned to stand up for herself against Emmitt. She's a fiesty little thing. Hey there's sugar then there's SPICE right?!

That's our little update on the fam! Also a few pics from playing in the backyard yesterday! Love you all!
