Good Day Sunshine

Thank goodness for the sunshine, however short lived it may be I am glad to see it! The kids and I took the opportunity to get out in the sunshine this afternoon and get some pics in. I feel so bad for them in the winter they have to stay cooped up in the house. I'm sure it doesn't help that Emmitt & I have been battling colds too. These colds just won't go away! This is why I am a summer girl. Winter is just not my season, I go a little stir crazy. The kids playing on the porch swing. We ran around playing tag, swinging, playing w/ sticks, and chasing daisy. This little guy is going to be 4 in just a little over a week! It doesn't really surprise me though, he acts so much older than 4. He has become quite the comedian. He reminds me of my little brother Eric always trying to make us laugh. The other day we were driving home from Bakersfield and the radio was on. A hip hop song came on and Emmitt goes, "Ooooohhhh Yeah, Turn that UP!" It was hilarious, he said it very hip hop-ish. Then he proceeded to bust a move, he was dancing crazy and making the funniest faces Kurt & I were laughing so hard, tears were pouring down my face. I love that boy!Alaina or "Lil Sass" as I like to call her nowadays, is getting so dang smart! I call her Lil Sass because she has become so sassy lately, she loves to try to show you she's in charge and quickly learns that's not the case. The other day she was being so crabby I called her Grumpy. She promptly informed me, "NO I not grumpy. I not in a movie." What? I had no idea what she was talking about. Then she says, "I not a CareBear!" LOL!! She has a CareBear movie with grumpy in it and apparently she thought of that carebear. Too cute! She's a smart little cookie! With 2 cuties like these, I'm excited to see what our third one will be like!

Bedtime Songs

We have a bedtime routine here at our home for the kids. We read/makeup a story, sing songs, and then they say their prayers. Last night we had fun with Alaina all she wanted to do was sing bedtime songs, she's a mini me. The girl loves to sing! Here are a few videos of her bedtime songs.

What's in your cart?

I got this idea from my sister Mandi and I thought I'd give it a go.

20 Things that are always in my shopping cart: Milk, eggs, bread, yoplait yogurt, apples, cereal (usually special K), lettuce, tomatoes, water (smart or dasani water), boneless skinless chicken breasts, bananas, snacks for kids, lunch meat, cheese, angel soft tp, ground beef, sweet onions (only kind of onions I'll buy), cucumbers, blueberry bagels, and costco's protein shakes

Most of the time these things can be found in my cart. So now I want to know what's in your cart?

Emmitt and the Dragon

Kids can make up the funniest stories, as you can see here my son has quite the imagination.

Playdate

Feb 12, 2009~ My nieces came over to play. Travis and Joanne had an appt and the arrangements they had made for the girls fell through so they called to see if I could watch them for a couple hrs. I jumped at the opportunity, even though we live close by the kids don't get to see eachother very often. I love spending time with these girls and my kids do too. Ava and Courtney were so well behaved. We played blocks, watched Tinkerbell, played tea party and playdough, and colored some spongebob pictures. All of them were pretty mild until Emmitt woke up from his nap then it got a little crazy! Courtney cracked me up because she kept calling me Mom. I was playing with her and telling her to call me auntie amy and she kept saying no, too cute. We love having family nearby to play with!

Shillig....Party of Five

I've been holding out for quite some time but I just can't take it anymore! We are expecting Baby 3!!! I've known for a while but since the last incident I didn't want to chance it, and spill the info too early. We are both super excited, and so far my estimated due date is oct 4th but that's not based on anything except my last period date. I haven't had a real appt yet, just a preg verification and this week is some paperwork appt. My real appt's should be scheduled soon and then I can divulge some more info. Emmitt is really excited and asks me pretty much everyday now if I am still making him a baby. He told Kurt the other day, "Mommys taking really really long to make me a baby." Seems like the shillig side of the fam will be having quite the baby boom coming up.

Love is in the air

Valentines Day 2009~ Most of our day was spent relaxing and playing with the kids. Isaac (kurts little brother) had spent the night before over so he was able to hang with Kurt and play with the kids too. Little did I know he had spent the night to be able to babysit, Kurt planned a little Valentines date. I wasn't really expecting anything since I know we're pretty tight on funds right now.
We left around 5pm and headed down to Valencia. We stopped off in Castaic at Jack in the Box for some food since I wasn't feeling very good. We just parked the car and sat and chatted while we ate our food. That was probably my fave part of the date, we were reminiscing about past valentines days, and dating. Then we headed to to movie theater where we saw Confessions of a Shopaholic. I've been waiting for this movie to come out as soon as I read the title I knew I'd love it!! ;) It was really good and hilarious. I just loved the way she described a store. You've got to see it. A definite buy for me! It was a perfect little Valentines day, thanks to my love. *the pics above were taken before we left, alaina just had to get in on the pic, notice the boots and panties look she's rockin? Oh and the hot pose! lol.*

Growing Pains

They grow up way too fast! I wanted to share some updated pics of the kids. They both are getting so big, and too smart. The sad thing is it seems like my kids grow quicker than my friends just because their so tall.Emmitt seems to tower over everyone his age and even kids who are 6. People always think I'm joking when I tell them how old he is. He is obsessed with playing Lego Star Wars on Xbox. It's pretty impressive to watch him play these grown up games. I wanted to share a funny story that happened back in December. We went to the church christmas party, and Kurt was busy working so it was just me and the kids. This girl in our ward has a 5 yr old boy who Emmitt was playing with and Eliana was keeping an eye on them. I went to go grab some food for us and when I came back I aw the 5 yr old boy crying. I asked Eliana what happened she told me Emmitt kicked him in the face. So I asked Emmitt why'd you kick him in the face? He responds with, "He called me stupid." Now I know I probably shouldn't be laughing at something like this but I couldn't help it I lost it. The look on Emmitts face was hilarious when he gave me his response like he had it coming mom. I told him we don't kick people and if somebody is being mean you come tell Mommy. We've always said Emmitts a tank and now you have the proof. That little boy learned a valuable lesson, you don't call people stupid especially not my son....LOL!!Alaina is quite the little princess around here. She's got us all wrapped around her finger. She loves to play dress up, and pretend games with Emmitt. She loves to say her own prayers at night which can be pretty drawn out at times. I think she's pretty smart for her age and she is potty trained!! YAY for that. We're doing great around here and we hope you all are well too!
