8 year Anniversary

Today, June 7th, Kurt & I celebrated our 8 year anniversary. Crazy how 8 years can seem so short and long at the same time. On one hand I can't remember life before being married and being a Mom, and on the other hand I think, "really that's all, just 8?" Today was awesome I really wasn't expecting much just because we have alot going on this summer and things we are planning and saving for, so the casual dinner and movie or "hey Happy Anniversary" and some love and kindness would have sufficed. I had to teach Zumba up in frazier this morning and then hung around to pick up Kurts little brother per Kurts request. (which told me he had something up his sleeve) I honestly thought we were just going to dinner or something. Our first stop was the bank cause, hey money doesn't grow on trees right? :) After the bank Kurt pulled into this little shopping center and told me to wait there, he came back out with these custom made shirts that looked like this:

The front side

The back side- can you crack the code?

So a little background behind the shirt thing- on our 2 year anniversary I made us shirts that had a pic from our wedding and a Our 2nd anniversary written on them. I made them to wear to Magic Mountain because that was where we were going to be spending the day and thought it'd be cute to wear matching shirts. Anyway, so Kurt remembered this and has been wanting to go back to Magic since we moved here in Santa Clarita. He put his thinking cap on and created these and decided we'd go to Magic and since we live right here get season passes. Our first objective once in the park was go straight to X. We had not been back to Magic since our 2nd anniversary and on that fateful day 'X' was closed. :( Since that time they replaced the original 'X' with 'X2' don't ask me what the difference is cause I have no clue. So we booked straight for it this time to see what all the hype was about. Anywhoo sort of a long line but we entertained ourselves by getting a bit freaked out watching others begin their journey on the coaster. I was a bit nervous, I won't lie- my tummy wasn't feelin too good. After riding it I can honestly say, that ride was straight awesome! No other way to describe it, I have never been on a coaster like that before in my life.

This is the look of fear and every muscle clenching the seat so I don't fall to my death. (I had a little too much wiggle room.)

The seats tilt and flip you here and there while the coaster goes nuts, total craziness. It was so much fun, Kurt and I were probably the loudest ones on the ride, we were hooting and hollering even while the coaster was sitting idle and we were all waiting to exit. lol. FUN FUN!! After that we felt like it was sort of pointless to ride anything else since nothing would compare. The park was closing in an hour so we went on log jammer in which I was soaked. I know with water rides you expect to get a little wet but this giant wave came up and drenched me entirely. After that fun experience we left the park on to some more relaxing things.

We had some grub at our favorite restaurant Black Angus where we ordered soup and salad and some zucchini. I love their bread so darn good and their potato soup is the best!! Then it was off to the theater to see X Men First Class. In my opinion the movie was alright not great. You definitely can't play the comparison game because it is a totally different cast. My problem was the same issue I have with most film sequels/prequels they tend to trash it up to bring more attention to it and get viewers in. WHY??!! X Men is just that-- X Men. NOT a bunch of bimbos half naked. Goodness Gracious, there's no decency anymore. No respect for women and certainly not any for themselves. I could go on forever on the subject such a pet peeve. Take me back to the days of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn where women had class. Moving on...

All in all today was perfect and I adore my husband. I've learned plenty along our journey together and the road hasn't always been smooth but that's what it's about- growing together, learning from eachother, and changing for the better. The other half of me- my husband, I love you.
