It's been a long time since I have received one of these! Melody over at Melodys Voice gave me this lovely award. Thanks so much! In receiving the award I have to share ten things about myself that you probably don't know.
1. I grew up a scaredy cat, I was terrified of everything and hated roller coasters. I braved Batman when it first came out at Magic Mtn and from then on I was scarred. You know those little reminder signs "keep your head back", well I wasn't really aware of just how to use my neck muscles to hold my head back and as soon as the ride started my head fell so I was looking at the ground and the WHOLE ride I could not get my head back up. I was screaming and crying, that hurt so bad! After that it was a no go for roller coasters until Kurt & I were married. Now I am a bit of a thrill seeker.
2. I have been in one physical fight in my lifetime and that was back in junior high. It was exhilarating! lol. (Holls, do you remember?) There was this group of girls we called "the horsey girls" the played a game pretending they were riding and taking care of horses, we thought that was a bit strange so we exploited it, such nice girls we were. Anyway we would play basketball the majority of recesses and these girls wanted to play against us but kept getting physical with their nails. Finally I lost it and we started punching and shoving eachother cause we asked this one girl in particular to stop and she wouldn't. Yard duty came over and broke it up before it got super crazy but I think I enjoyed it a bit too much. ha ha
3. Along with number two comes my love of boxing/kickboxing I have this secret dream to be a Muy Thai Kickboxer. I don't think I would enjoy getting my trash kicked as much as kicking someone elses. This dream stems from watching this show Fight Girls that was on Oxygen 3 or 4 yrs ago. Ever since I have Muy Thai on the brain. I actually found a studio here in Valencia that teaches classes and joined but don't know if it will last. Pricey....
4. (this is getting difficult I think I've shared alot on this blog about myself so finding new things is hard) Ummmm......I noticed in myself recently that I feel an overwhelming sense of pride when my Dad tells me he's proud of me. To explain, I have always been a Daddys girl- that's not to say that I don't have a great relationship with my Mom because I adore her (i love you mom), but I think it mainly stems from being the only girl and my Dad being so busy with work and not spending as much time with him (at least I think anyway). So because it's obviously easier for guys to bond w/ guys and girls to bond w/ girls I have, in my later years, had this desire to do things I can connect with my dad on. Recently I was over visiting w/ my parents and I was showing my Dad my stratosphere video and then talking to him about my upcoming marathon. As soon as I had mentioned my marathon I saw my Dads face light up and he said really? And then told me he was so proud of me, that moment will forever be a part of me.
(fyi- my Dad always tells me he loves me and is proud of me etc, it wasn't a new experience just a new feeling)
5. Some people are animal people, I have come to realize I am not. Growing up we had dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, etc. I always loved our dogs and my bunnies and thought they were the greatest things on the planet. Then when I got married Kurt told me we were not going to have animals in the house, ever. He grew up with outside animals I grew up with inside animals. Anyway a couple years into our marriage we get our dog Daisy. Kurt wanted her outside, her being a puppy I felt awful putting her out. She stayed with my Mom for a while there and my Mom trained her to be inside. Then we moved to Frazier and took her back but she still had to be outside. I just couldn't handle it. I feel it's pointless if there outside and then we brought her in when she had her puppies. My allergies were out of control, the smell of her was disgusting, and the hair everywhere! AAAH. I loved her but holy cow being away from animals for a couple years changes you.
6. Parlez-Vous France? I have this crazy fascination with France and the French culture. I've had this since I was in junior high. I would love to learn French. It's the language of love after all...lol. Europe fascinates me and I will someday make it there.
7. Vintage shabby chic decor is my preferred decorating style, one of these days I will have my dream home decorated perfectly. Chandeliers everywhere! :)
8. I am not a swimmer. I can swim to survive but I do not like swimming, mainly because I am not a strong swimmer. My kids got their little fish abilities from their papa.
9. I am not great at organization. I feel I am ok, but I envy those who are totally on top of it.
10. Jobs I wanted to seek after before I got hitched: Model, Raiderette or similar (I don't like the Raiders I just watched the show and wanted to tryout), Interior Designer, & Professional Dancer on Broadway. I also always wanted to be on the tv show Big Brother. So there you have it...........

This last weekend we spent in Vegas with Kurts family for a little reunion time. Not everyone could make it but we still had a blast. So much to cover and post on that it would take days to write it all out so I am just going to cover some highlights of our trip. Favorite Highlights: Game Nights especially Pictionary (lol, sorry Jaker), Chatting and catching up with Larkie and Kaylene, Skyjump (ohhhh yaaa), Bellagio Buffet with all the family, Little Baby Gracies blessing (Luke and Kaylenes newest addition), Swim time or in my case sun time, Family Conversations ranging in deep to embarrassing subjects, Prank calls, Watching all the kids play together, Family temple trip, etc. Those are just to name a few. Being together was just plain awesome even if we weren't doing anything in particular just catching up with everyone was worth the trip. I especially enjoyed seeing Larkie, Jake, and Luke because we don't see them as often. Larkie and I were able to have alot of girl chat time, and it made me realize how much I've missed her. I love you Larkie. Her babies are the funniest kids, they have her fun loving personality and made for some funny moments. Jake always brings life to the party, he is really creative and makes up fun games to play or topics to discuss, he cracks me up. Luke is also a funny guy, and since we grew up together, I always enjoy seeing their cute family. His little boy William was my little playmate and I loved every second of it. Get all these crazy guys in the same room and kiss your boredom goodbye. Now on to the gazillions of photos---

Cute kids playing in the jacuzzi on the deck of the awesome suite the main Shillig family had.

The 3 little guys hanging out together, they are all pretty much the same age, and they were so fun to watch. (William, Atticus, and Maddox)

Peek a Boo!

My pride and joy

Shillig men hanging out, who's feet are who's?

I don't remember what I was laughing at, my husband just loves taking random pictures of me

It's exhausting with all these cousin around

All aboard the luggage trolley! All packed up ready to go hit the strip and head home.

Family Photos before Larkie and Seth leave and we hit the strip

Getting all suited up for the SkyJump!

At the arcade in the Stratosphere, I started this elephant up for Maddox but as soon as it started moving he wanted off, so William decided to take a ride.

Bellagio Buffet- this was Jakes idea, he said we just had to try it so the whole family went. It was awesome! This picture does not do the justice I had in mind for these men and their PILES of crab legs. Jake and Chase were definitely the Kings of the crab.

The love of my life stuffed out of his mind right now. I look at this picture and a line from Tangled goes through my head. "All right I didn't want to have to do this but you leave me no choice....here comes the smolder."

The kids were dropping like flies, we were at the buffet for about 3 hours. Maddox got a nice little head massage from Grandpa that sent him snoozing.

My first experience eating mussels, Lark was so grossed out it was hilarious, I had to rub it in a little. ;)

Cute Isaac still going strong, his final plate choices shrimp and some oranges.

Emmitt grubbing on some ice cream, my kids even ate alot too. We were all so stuffed!! Really great buffet I highly recommend it!

Alaina covered in ice cream and running on sugar. Such a fun vacation!! I didn't want to come home. The videos are to follow in a seperate post, including my skyjump so stay tuned....
