Keeping Up with the Shilligs

I realize it's been a while since I gave an update on our family so I apologize. We've been ticking away here in Frazier, glad that spring is here!! Kurts work is slowly starting to pick back up, we're going to miss all the family time we've been able to spend together. He's filled his time with playing with our kids, dirtbikes, dates w/ me, and xbox. I even started joining in on some Halo 3 games, although I am not good at all! We took a day trip out to Palm Springs and took our kids swimming. They are fish, as soon as it starts getting warm they are begging to go swim! Thank goodness we recently acquired a dough boy pool from one of Kurts customers! We finally got it cleaned up and put together, now if the heat could pick up.

Emmitt has become quite the little adventurer these days. He loves to go with his Daddy to the farm and ride dirtbikes! He went on a long ride w/ Kurt to "the fishbowls" which is about a 35 mile rough terrain round trip ride. Emmitt was such a trooper he had a great time. The most amazing thing to me was he fell asleep on the dirtbike on the way back to the house. WHO falls asleep on a dirtbike while riding a trail? One tired boy that's who! Emmitt has also become quite the little translator for Alaina. If anyone asks what Alaina just said he will tell you, in a voice that makes you feel like why the heck did you not get that. lol. I'm hoping by September we can send him back to preschool with Alaina to burn off some of his energy.

Miss Alaina is getting so very tall! The doctors have always told me she'll be between 5'9 and 6'1 but it's hard to believe when their just babies. Now that she's shooting up I am realizing that they were right. Alaina and Emmitt are both super animated like Kurt is but with Emmitt I noticed it more when he was a baby and his funny expressions. Alaina always makes the most animated facial expressions, it's hilarious. I just want to hide a camera and film her for 2 days straight. She loves to people watch and dazes off into space quite often (she gets that from her mommy). The girl is definitely NOT shy! The other day I took Emmitt to the doctor and she stood in the middle of the room, hands on hips asking the doctor, "OK what the matter with Emmitt?" I tried to tell her and she turned to me with her little hand pointing sternly, "NO Mommy. I talking to the doctor." Such a little spitfire she is.

As for me, I have been enjoying the downtime with Kurt. I have to soak it all in before summer gets here and he's gone a ton. I am also pleased that this pregnancy has been a breeze compared to my first 2. The only difficulty I have had is realizing that I do need to take it a bit slow with my workout routine. I had a series of painful contractions the other day after pushing myself too far. I am anxiously awaiting my ultrasound which is on the 23rd, I am nervous they won't be able to tell me the sex of the baby though since I'll only be 17 wks. I've also started reading the Twilight books. After seeing the movie I realized I do want to read them. I LOVE them, and I'm on book 4. I finally finished my painting task in the upstairs of our home. I had been working on getting some wallpaper off of our entry way so I could paint. I was ignoring it for a while since the removal was incredibly frustrating, that is until I learned the secret formula to make it fall right off the wall. Now it's complete and looks fabulous. My entry way doesn't taunt me anymore. That's about all the fun we've had here, we hope all of you are doing well! All our love.
