Today we had planned to spend Memorial Day at the beach, but due to the cold weather we had to think of something else. We decided that the LA Zoo would be fun and a cheaper activity. Apparently everyone else in the area had the same idea....MAN was it crowded! The ticket line was wrapped around the building! Thank Goodness they had a membership line also that had maybe 5 people in it. We asked what the price difference was and for a day per person it's $12 for a membership for the whole family it's $75 and you get to come back as much and whenever u want. It was so worth it to just buy a membership when we were probably going to stand in the ticket line for the next hour! The kids were so excited to see the animals! Emmitt kept saying I want to see another animal whenever there was a lull and EXTREMELY excited to see an alligator. He came up to me and said Mommy there's a big ol alligator and roared at me. (His voice gets super deep when he's talkin about something big and scary...lol) Alaina was having fun just walking on her own and getting caught up in everything going on around her. I started realizing why parents buy leashes for their children...lol. She was getting very distracted but having a ball at the same time. She kept doing her little tip toe run and flittering her arms like she was flying or something. (so dang cute!) We got to see tons of fun animals, and unlike the Wild Animal Park got to see them closer. The Wild Animal Park made us so mad when we went over 2 yrs ago. The animals were nowhere to be found in some of the areas and it was way more expensive! My three faves when I go to the zoo are the tigers, giraffes, and zebras. Unfortunately we forgot about the tigers! Their my top fave...oh well there's always next time. Enjoy our pics!
Meerkats always crack me up. I swear they know exactly what's going on and they always seem to be posing for you.
It was so crowded through the gorilla area it was pretty much impossible to see anything! But we pushed our way through and were able to get some snapshots before we were smothered.
The BIG DADDY gorilla!
One of my faves....the inspiration for one of the greatest fashion prints of all time! LOL!! Love these zebras.
The giraffes were definitely our fave of the trip. They are so amazing! So beautiful and huge.

Too fun! I had been wanting to go to that zoo too! It's too bad about the beach, but it looks like you guys had tons of fun anyways!
