Patty Cake Patty Cake Bakers Mam

Alaina and I had our very first mother daughter baking time together. It was so much fun! She was so cute and helpful. I was amazed at how she could practically work the kitchen aide beater by herself. She got her cute little apron she has on from her new Barbie Christmas movie. I think it's super adorable and pink....so go figure why I like it so much! :) We made chocolate chip cookies that came out perfectly. Once they were finished cooking she proudly brought one over to her Daddy to taste test. Emmitt came over while we were mixing the ingredients to see what was going on and Alaina promptly explained that SHE was making cookies and he couldn't help. LOL! My little independent girl. I love how smart she is getting, everyday she amazes me with her speech and the things she does. For example, the other day she was playing w/ this tiny baby doll rattle that has a small ring on the end of it. She came over to Kurt & I and put both hands on the ring and put it all the way up over her head to her back and back again w/o letting go. Sort of freaky at first for me, looks like we've got a little contortionist on our hands. Kurt & I have always said that she needs to be a gymnast. I am blessed and I love my little princess.

Rusty the Snowman

The day of our big snow in FP, I went with my Mom down to Valencia to try and get a little shopping in. Kurt and the kids spent the day playing in the snow, and building this super cute snowman. Emmitt named him Rusty and the kids just loved this snow guy. My Mom and I barely made it past the freeway blockades. They shut down the 5 freeway right after we got through. It was closed till the following early afternoon. We got a bundle of snow!! I love the snow when I can drive to it for snowboading purposes but not when it's on my doorstep! I am sooooo not a cold weather person, but it's nice to see my kids enjoy it.Kurt and his work of art, or should I say snow? Our snowy view. Our pretty snow covered tree.Daisy is it cold out there?

I'm dreaming of a white christmas

The other day we finally got around to taking our annual christmas card photographs. We wanted to do some pro pics this year but we just didn't have the funds, so we opted for the usual d.i.y. pics. Here are some of the ones that didn't make it onto the card that I wanted to share w/ everyone. I think she looks so much like Kurt, especially their baby blues. This was hilarious! We were trying to get some pics of her and I just smiling, and she would not stop trying to do a kissing pic. She was getting mad and grabbing my face and saying: "No Mommy, you kiss ok?!" I was laughing so hard, she's just way too cute sometimes.Kurt & Emmitt took several funny face pics. Kurt would ask Emmitt what face he wanted to make and then Kurt would copy it, silly boys. This pic was my fave out of them all! Hope everyone has a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Home is Where the Heart Is

Here are the pics of our home in Frazier. The house is still unfinished, we still have boxes to unpack and rooms to organize, and all of our photos to hang and decorate. Hopefully you can see the paint in these pics. Our fireplace nook.A wide view of our messy living room leading into the entry way.The left side of our kitchen----best thing about this kitchen....granite counter tops!!! I hate tile counters the grout drives me insane! Our dining room with the huge slider, Kurt and I want to replace this with french doors eventually. The right side of the kitchen. Pretty interesting having the stove top and oven separate. The guest bathroom.Best thing about this place is the view:Part of our yard.

Anyway those are the pics I have so far. I didn't do any of the bedrooms simply because they are definitely not finished! The whole downstairs of our home is Kurt and my bedroom, and an exercise area. Once we get the rest finished I'll update again.

Turn and make a change

Sorry no pics but I thought I should update since it's been quite a while. We just got our internet up and running in the new house a couple days ago and finally went and picked up the computer to be able to update anything. Plenty of changes and struggles here in the Shillig 3 home.

We recently finished our move to our hometown of FP. We are officially moved in now and I've been a busy bee trying to get everything adjusted here. Poor Kurts been making a couple trips back and forth trying to resolve unfinished business, and get the rest of our things we couldn't fit in the U-Haul. I have been painting like a mad woman at our new home. I didn't like the old color and was also having a bit of nesting issues so I painted the entire upstairs of our rental. I must say it looks awesome, I'll post pics asap. The original color was sort of a pinky white, so I painted my kitchen a sage green. And chose a warm brown for the living room, entry, and hall. The 2 colors flow well together. Kurt lovingly told me I'm a natural at decorating. :) The only part that isn't complete quite yet is the entry way, there's some old wallpaper there that I'm working on removing so I can sand and paint that as well. The wallpaper is a huge chore that I thought wouldn't be such a hassle.....silly me. The main issue is that the wallpaper is actually the vinyl stuff so it's more of a task to get it off, thank goodness I just figured out the trick so I should have that finished in the next couple of days.

We are getting settled in here in our new home and are loving the view and being close to family. My brother and his wife are visiting here before they are off to Japan for the next 3 yrs so it's nice to make the visit easier. (They just found out their expecting their first little bundle of joy!) Today we all went to Disneyland together which was a a blast seeing the nieces overjoyed since it's there first time and my sister Alex's first time to Disneyland as well. The Jude side of the family has been coming to church all together and it's fun to see us all fill an entire row. I think more than that though is the awesome feeling of seeing my Daddy sitting there on the pew in sacrament in his nice white shirt and tie. My Mom, my older brother and his wife and their girls all sitting together in Sunday school. Heavenly Father definitely has a plan for us.

On 11/31 we found out we were to be expecting baby 3. I had a feeling I was pregnant but decided to give it to the end of the month before testing. We were both excited at the news. Dec 3rd I was a bit crampy and some what having spotting issues. We called Bill over to come and assist in a blessing for me. I was nervous and knew that something was not right. Kurt also had called Ashley our sister for some advice since she works in this particular field. The next morning I was still not feeling well and the bleeding has continued. I have lost the baby. As a woman I think this type of situation is always in the back of your head. Will it happen to me? How will I handle it? These are just some of the questions that we might ask ourselves. For me I've just always wished it would be sooner rather than later. Still......you can never fully understand it till you've dealt w/ it. I can say that it has been difficult. Painful. My body is still trying to expel whatever it needs to. I just wanted to share because we made the mistake of calling everyone once we got the results on the stick and I don't think I could deal w/ the congrats and how's it going. All I can do is look at this as there was something that I could not foresee and God has a bigger plan for me. It's definitely a test of faith.

As for the kids they are doing great. It didn't take them long to adjust to the new home. They are having fun spending time with their grandparents, aunts and uncles, and nieces. I will post pics as soon as I get a chance. Love you all.

Moving

Moving on up....literally. We are moving north, back to our hometown. I know this may come as a shock to some of you, it's pretty sudden. Kurts job is moving us closer to Pasadena area. We found a home to rent back in our hometown of Frazier Park, and the good thing is both of our families will only be max of 10 mins away!! Now the kids can be closer to their grandparents. I'll post pics once everything is said and done. We've been traveling back and forth trying to get everything settled. We're heading back up the mtn tonight to take a load.
We will miss all of our Beaumont friends!! If anyone here in town knows someone that is looking to rent we will be renting our home out. Pass the word. I LOVE YOU JAYME!!! I'm gonna miss you dearly!! You guys will have to come visit often. What will Shelby and Emmitt do w/o eachother??! We have greatly appreciated your families friendship and love. We consider you guys family so you'll definitely have to visit because who abandons family....lol. Goodbye Beaumont- we will miss you. Off to the mountain top!

I'm a Lil Teapot

(The volume is sort of low so make sure that you have your computer volume up.)This is Alaina's new fave song. I used to sing it to Emmitt when he was a baby and do this lil dance. When you get to the tip me over and pour me out part, I would lean over and shake my head (alaina sort of does it). Anyway Emmitt used to crack up at me, now Alaina thinks it's hilarious. So cute to watch her do it. We'll sing it with her before bed and she'll say again again!! :) She's our little singer, she loves to sing everything. In the car when the radios playing she tries to sing the words to every song that comes on. LOVE having a sweet little girl like her!!

CuddleBugs

Kurt and I went on our weekly date night Saturday, and came home to find our babies like this. Both sound asleep and snuggling. It was way too cute to not take a picture. Oh if they could only stay this sweet.

Emmitt and Alaina all dressed for church.
Our regular computer is still down and out but I was able to upload some pics onto our laptop. So here are some pics while I have them:Preschool Halloween Party- Emmitt and Alaina w/ their friends Shelby and Daisy. Emmitt & Shelby LOVE eachother....it's super cute!! We didn't get their halloween costumes in the mail till the night before. So here Emmitt is just wearing his dirtbike outfit that he got from Grandma Lark a while ago, and Alaina's wearing a borrowed cinderella dress. Kurt and I dressed up in our old school cheer & football uniforms. Well actually Kurt just had his lettermen jacket but it works right? Anyway we of course forgot to get pics together. I took this one when we got home from the preschool party.Just a random pic of the kids and I. Alaina has started making crazy faces when we try to take pics.....guess who she got that from.....her brother!Alaina is getting so big and soooo very smart! Look how long her hair is getting...I love it!Silly pic of Emmitt----he just randomly put on this ribbon and Kurts cellphone so I had to take a pic. Anyway we'll post more pics later when we get some of their real halloween costumes. Hope everyone had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! :)

On the Hunt

I know I haven't updated in a while but life has been pretty busy lately. I am on the job hunt! Most of you know that Kurts work slows way down in the winter and this year it seems to have slowed down a lot sooner than expected. So I am on the hunt for a job to keep us going through these winter months. I do still work at the gyms but I don't make enough to bring home. I applied to 25 places in the last couple weeks, and most are not hiring at this time. I finally received some good feedback when I went over to the Cabazon Outlets. They are hiring for seasonal work since retail tends to pick up for thanksgiving and christmas. I interviewed over at Guess, which was probably the most fun interview I've had.
The interview was a group interview and the manager said she calls it more of an "audition" then an interview. They look for people that are outgoing and fun but also responsible. We had to answer a bunch of questions and we had to do this role play game. She presented us with situations that might arise throughout our work day and we had to basically act it out. Of course with my luck I was called as one of the first people to act it out. She told me that I would be the sales associate and the other girl is my customer. My customer has come into the store only to buy a pair of light wash bootcut jeans. My goal is to get her to the register w/ a bunch of items. So we start acting it out I welcome her to the store she tells me what she's looking for. I helped her find the jeans then I start trying to get her to buy some shirts that are on sale or try some other jeans that I thought would look great on her. LOL! It was pretty funny, the other girl was adamant about what she wanted. Anyway at the end of the interview the manager handed this little box over and told us to pick a paper out of it. The papers had numbers indicating which order we would go in for the next activity. We were told we had 2 mins to think up a skit or a commercial, a song, a dance, etc. The purpose was to show our personality and to stand out from the crowd.
I have to admit I was a little bit overwhelmed. But I just thought oh well let's do this. Most of the people said they didn't feel comfortable, other did skits or commercials of some kind. I had no clue what I was going to do. I got up and told them about my hip hop teacher from the gym and how she's the greatest booty shaker ever...lol. I told them how every class she turns on the Tambourine song and makes us booty shake for the whole song. And of course I showed them what I learned. ☺ Everyone was busting up laughing, it was fun! At the end of the interview I got a 2nd appt to come back.
I have also interviewed at Puma where they pretty much said I'm hired and told me they'd call when my paperwork to sign is ready. But I still have been searching. I want to go back to waitressing. I love how fast paced it is and just a fun social environment. I have applied to plenty of restaurants none of which were hiring. I was told by a friend to go back to Chilis here in town and ask for a manager to see if their hiring and not just ask the hostess. So yesterday I did that. The manager told me they are and gave me an app to fill out. I completed it, and they said it looked great and then gave me a test to complete. The math questions made me wish I was still in school...oh boy it's been a while. ☺ They processed the test and told me I passed and that I could come back for a formal interview Monday! So I may be a waitress again after all.
Our goal is to have Kurt work the days I have off and he'll be home w/ the kids while I work considering there's not much screen business coming in. You do what you have to do right? I'll continue to work the gyms since it's only an hour class anyway, and work won't be open at those times regardless. So that's my little update on my busy life. The kids are doing great! Sorry no pics our computers having issues so we have to take it in to get it cleaned out. The virus is affecting our kodak program so our pics are not loading. We hope everyones doing well! ♥

♫Shave & a haircut...6 pence♪

You know those kidism's that we all hear horror stories about? The crayon on the wall, the poop smearing, the dirt eating, etc. Well today one my not so fave kidism's came true, the one that I thought we wouldn't have an issue with. My kids love the draw on the walls thing, but never did I think they would want to play beauty salon. Oh yes that's right....the scissors have been compromised. lol.
Today while I left to buy some pineapple for the ward luau the games begun. Kurt put the kids down for a "nap" and he tried to get some of his business calls done. Little did he know the kids weren't tired after all, they had bigger fish to fry. He heard some noise coming from upstairs so he went to go scope it out. There stood the 2 little culprits smiling up at him with scissors gleaming in Emmitts little hand, and a "reverse mohawk" on Alainas once pretty golden locks. He couldn't have chopped a hidden part of the head like normal little kids do, he went straight for the gold. If you're going to do it...you better do it right! Oh my goodness. Beautiful golden little strands of evidence lay on the floor of my bathroom. Trust me this pic doesn't do the horror justice. Uh OHHHHH.....Moms home. The garage door opens and Kurt comes out to tell me about the little mishap. By the look on his face and the tone of his voice I can tell this is not going to be a pretty picture. He didn't tell me the location of the chop so I hoped for a miracle. I headed upstairs and their was little Alaina sneaking out of her room (she's still supposed to be napping btw). I couldn't do anything but stand there in shock as I stared at the spikey bits of hair in a row front and center on her little noggin.
In closing I would just like to say Emmitt charges ten bucks a pop for his signature look.☺ Emmitt decided he needed a tiny trim to...he's trying to bring the bald spot look back. Oh the joys of motherhood.
The following video is for those who don't know the "reverse mohawk" story:

Look out American Idol!

These videos are the best! We were all hanging out at Travis and Joannes house wondering what to do, when Trav mentioned he got this singstar game. I was all over it! So we popped it in and decided to have a little karaoke fun. Eric was up to bat first, I heard from his wife Alex that he had some "rockband" singing experience under his belt so of course I had to insist he break the ice. It was hilarious! We were all laughing so hard. The version that Trav had was some old school rock mixed with some new, no chick singers but the girls joined in anyway. We had a couple battles, Eric and I battled to Nickelbacks Savin Me--- amazingly I won! Sort of sad that I won on a guy song (guess my voice can be pretty deep...lol.) Anyway then we did couples face off- Kurt whooped me 3 in a row before I finally got him back on foo fighters best of you. This other video is of Kurts first performance...priceless. Watch out American Idol, the Jude family is on the loose!☺ "Burnin down the house" with that performance!

Hey Jude!

Eric, Amy, & Travis- This week we went up to Frazier and visited with the family. We left Tuesday evening and picked Eric & Alex up from the Ontario airport on the way. Wednesday we all just hung out and visited. Thursday night we came back cause Kurt had work Friday and then we took off again Friday night. We tried to catch the JV highschool homecoming game since Kurts little brother Isaac is on the team but we got there just as it ended. They won though! We bundled up as best we could and sat down for the Varsity game. Boy oh boy was it freezing!! We couldn't make it past the first quarter, the kids were miserable. And we were all starved! We left and went to Los Pinos the local Mexican restaurant and filled our tummy's. Then we stopped off at my parents house to say hello for a while before heading off to The Shillig farm to sleep for the night. We stayed the whole wkend and left early Sunday morning to drive Eric and Alex back to the airport to catch their flight home. It was so nice to see them and spend time together. Luckily their coming back out in December so we get to see them 2 times this year instead of one...a miracle!! ☺ I loved catching up with Alex my sister, she's tons of fun and absolutely hilarious. She's perfect for my brother.
Can't wait for December to do it all again!♥

Duck Duck GOOSE!

Alaina, Ava, Emmitt, and Courtney playing at the park. These past couple of days we spent in Frazier visiting with family. My older brother Travis got in a pretty sucky dirtbike accident, and broke 3 of his ribs. Eric my little brother was able to get emergency leave to come and make sure Travis was ok. It was so nice to spend time with them, especially Eric since I haven't seen him in a year. The kids had so much fun playing together! My kids just love their cousins Ava and Courtney. These pics are from the local park up there. We took the kids to go feed the ducks. They loved tossing the cheerios at them and watching them all scramble for the food. Poor Ava was scared out of her mind when we first got there, she was not wanting any part of the ducks. lol! I decided we should get some fun pics of the cousins together before we left so these are the results of our efforts to get them all to pay attention. The gang feeding the ducksEmmitt & AvaAlaina & CourtneySibling LoveMy cutest nieces!
